Tennessee Fairs

Fair season arrives this summer in Tennessee. The state boasts of so many fairs, it can be difficult to decide which one to go to. Here are our top recommendations, arranged according to their calendar schedule.

Anderson County Fair

Voted “Champion of Fairs AAA Division” in 2015, the Anderson County Fair continues to build on its prestigious win. Coming this July 17 to 22 to the Fairgrounds in Clinton, TN, the Anderson County Fair’s biggest attraction is the demolition derby, where only the strongest driver survives.

Jefferson County Fair

The Jefferson County Fair offers plenty of fun and excitement for kids of all ages. This year, attendees can expect a carnival, special needs pageant, demolition derbies, concerts, fireworks show, and superhero night. The Jefferson County Fair will be held at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds from August 14 to 18.

Claiborne County Fair

The Claiborne County Fair is managed by the Claiborne County Fair Association, which is a non-profit organization made up of volunteers who have made it their mission to give back to the community. That’s why all of the money raised by the fair goes back into the community in the form of the fair itself, repairs and upgrades to the grounds, or donations to the community. This year, the Claiborne County Fair is going to run from August 27 to September 1, 2018, at the Claiborne County Fairground in Tazewell County.

Tennessee State Fair

The Tennessee State Fair represents everything that makes the state of Tennessee great. The exhibits showcase how Tennesseans grow food, create art, and enjoy themselves. See live farm animals and savor the state’s much-loved homemade two-crust apple pie. Held in September at the Tennessee State Fairgrounds in Nashville, the Tennessee State Fair is ten days of fun. It has food, entertainment, livestock events, and even field trips that everyone can enjoy.

Tennessee Valley Fair

The Tennessee Valley Fair is another one of the September Tennessee fairs that celebrate the Volunteer state’s rich agricultural and artistic heritage. In addition, it also places a particular focus on family values, using exhibits and tours as youth development activities that provide guidance and support to adolescents. On September 7 to 16, 2018 at Knoxville, TN, expect to see products that give a nod to Tennessee’s long-held traditions and unique ingenuity while looking toward the future in the areas of agriculture, trade, and industry.

Sevier County Fair

Held yearly at the Sevier County Fairgrounds in Sevierville, TN, the Sevier County Fair promotes plenty of kid-friendly fun. It starts with free entrance for children aged 10 and under. For your little ones, there’s laser tag, scavenger hunts, small rides, and small contests. This includes a variety of entertainment for the whole family.
